Haverhill Community Sports Association [HCSA] is thrilled to announce a strategic staff restructure at The New Croft that will create new job opportunities and pave the way for further growth and innovation within the organisation.

The New Croft, operationally now one of the largest community hubs in Suffolk, has operated on limited resources for a number of years whilst growing the facilities for the local community. The staff restructure will involve realigning roles and responsibilities across various departments within the organisation.

This strategic move will not only optimise operational efficiency and provide a sustainable growth model but also create exciting new job opportunities for existing employees and external candidates.

Peter Betts has been appointed Chief Executive of HCSA, which has allowed the promotion of Sophie Grey to Facility Manager and Lois Balfour as Football Development Manager.

Betts describes the restructure as an opportunity to enhance The New Croft’s services:  “The last year has been the most challenging yet for the staff here as we have increased our operational hours where we cover a 7-day a week period, many days from 7am-10pm and weekends until gone Midnight, with limited resources.”

“This restructure provides an opportunity to enhance the services we provide our users as well as improving the long-term sustainability of our community site. I am incredibly proud to be heading up a fantastic group of staff who go above and beyond within their roles; we are fortunate to have some staff that are arguably the best in Suffolk across their own areas of expertise.

“I am a huge advocate of developing people and therefore delighted that Lois Balfour and Sophie Grey have been offered the opportunity to take up senior leadership roles on the site moving forward. I would like to thank Tom Harrison and the board, who continue to provide first-class support to its staff, which enables them to continue being driven to improve all areas of the facility. “

As part of this restructure, HCSA will be actively recruiting for various positions across different departments, including but not limited to; Football Development Officer, Hospitality and Catering positions and general facility attendants. These positions will offer a chance to join a dynamic and forward-thinking team, work on exciting community projects, and contribute to the overall organisation’s success.

Tom Harrison, Chair of HSCA believes the restructure is “vitally important” to The New Croft as it aims to support the rapidly expanding town in Haverhill. He said: “The new structure reflects the successful development of the facility and continuing growth in user numbers over the past few years. With a second full-size 3G pitch currently under construction and due to open in September, together with a further planned expansion of the building, we expect to see significant future growth in participation over the coming years.

“This is expected to bring with it exciting opportunities for additional employment to serve the continuing demand for sports and other recreational uses of the New Croft for local residents.”
